Scenic and unusual location by the River and in New Lanark village
Location, Social History of the place, DB&B deal. Excellent dinner.
Not enough time to use leisure pool and facilities: they closed at 7.00pm on Saturday and you cannot use them after 11.00 on checking-out day, so we after checking in on arrival we had to rush to squeeze in about 20 mins before closure and only then take our luggage to our room. Then in the morning we had to get up too early in order to get 30 mins before breakfast and checking out. Although there is free wifi access in common areas, there is no reception for mobiles, which makes communications with family and friends very difficult.
Nice location, relaxing swimming pool, peaceful environment
The views were absolutely fantastic. We arrived at the Hotel with lovely reception staff and were able to go into our room at 1pm which was fab. Walked into the room and the views were to die for. I realised one of the fans were broke, so i phoned up reception and they were able to replace one within 20 minutes which was great. Very close to all the activities and i thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my partner. Can i just say, the breakfast was glorious! Best full english i have had ever. Will be visiting back again very soon!!
The only mere complaints i have which really are not huge but when we walked into our room, there were around 3/4 flies flying around the room which was rather uncomfortable. Also, the mattress needed a wee bit of attention, quite noisy and a bit uncomfortable, maybe in need of a new one. Other than that, i can't fault anything, everything else was perfect.
Very good combination of value and comfort allied to an interesting and unusual location. Quiet.
The best hotel I have stayed at this year. The view over the river from our room was stunning and the meal was superb. This should be a 4 star hotel. At £89.00 Bed and Breakfast fantastic value for money. A real gem this one.
The historical context was interesting particularly the adaptive re-use of the old industrial buildings.
First night our room was directly above a noisy wedding party that went on till midnight and continued in the corridor outside our room till 1am. A complaint to the manager was sympathetically received and an adjustment made to our bill.
Excellent location. Central for car or walking tours. Beautiful surroundings in Clyde Valley. Very interesting heritage centre with historic mill on site. Very friendly and attentive staff. Tasty bar meals at reasonable prices. Good selection of wines, beers and spirits. High quality leisure facilities with swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym.
The attractions and walking around the mill
Very friendly staff, comfortable rooms with great view of river and good amenities
The hotel was very smart and clean: imaginative and attractive use of old buildings. There had been a mistake in our booking arrangements and the staff on duty responded in a friendly and professional manner which resulted in a good stay for all of us.
The location, comfort, excellent service, friendly staff and very good food cannot say anymore a really enjoyable break.
Superb location, impressive renovation, clean, well appointed, welcoming.
no wi-fi in room.
Staff, variety of things to do.
Food a bit pricey for those coming with a family
It was a lovely experience and the staff were second to none. The Manager must be very proud of his staff!
Lovely setting. Stayed in one of the Waterhouses, which was larger and better equipped than we had expected.
bathroom a bit grubby around sink area.
